Alex Zakreski

Alex is Senior Manager of Cleantech Ecosystems at MaRS Discovery District. In this role she leads climate ecosystem and capital strategy, accelerating the growth of Canadian cleantech ventures by connecting them to capital providers, potential customers and partners in the MaRS network. Alex has nearly a decade of experience in climate innovation and has held numerous venture, corporate and investor-facing roles. Before returning to Canada, she spent nearly four years in London, UK - most recently on the innovation team at DS Smith, the largest manufacturer of fibre-based packaging in the world, where she sourced and scaled partnerships to support bringing new products and services to market. Prior to that, she managed the European and Asian partner networks at Cleantech Group, where she helped investors and corporates access cutting-edge insights on cleantech innovation and source opportunities. Alex holds a BA in Art History & International Development from McGill University and a MSc in International Public Policy from University College London (UCL), where her research focused on climate finance.
